U.S. Representative Evan Jenkins (R-W.Va.) voted today to protect the unborn by helping to pass the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.

Rep. Jenkins is a cosponsor of the bill, H.R. 36, which passed the U.S. House of Representatives 242-184. The bill would ban abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy with exceptions for rape, incest and where the mother's life is threatened.

"Life is precious, and I am proud to stand up for the rights of the unborn. I supported a similar bill while a state senator in West Virginia, and I am pleased the House has passed this important ban. We must protect the most innocent among us -- the unborn," Rep. Jenkins said.
